Two tools disagree on engagement rate. Which one is wrong?

A founder sees 4% in one tool and 12% in another for the same account. Should the higher result go into the client report?

Check the denominator before choosing a number. Interactions divided by followers and interactions divided by views answer different questions. Sampling different posts or collecting them on different days can also change the result.

Put the formula, collection date and sample size next to the metric. TokPortal’s public checker uses sampled likes, comments and shares relative to sampled views. A comparison without those definitions is a comparison of labels, not necessarily of performance.
